SDL’S UKAS Calibration Laboratory

As a manufacturer of precision platinum resistance detectors, SDL has long recognised how essential it is that it should have the ability to be able to measure temperature and resistance to the highest possible levels, and hence has always had it’s own Calibration Facility in house.

In 1987 the company achieved its’ accreditation, initially to the British Calibration Service, which became NAMAS, and is now UKAS.

The Laboratory is accredited to UKAS,(Calibration No. 0171) for the measurement of Resistance Thermometers, Electronic measurement systems, and Temperature transmitters -85°C/650°C.

Additionally its offers Fixed Point Calibrations at

Ethylene carbonate Point
Freezing point of Tin
Freezing Point of Zinc

The laboratory offers some of the lowest possible measurement uncertainties, down to ±0.6mK, as shown on the attached UKAS Uncertainty schedule
