INDUSTRIAL SEMI STANDARD THERMOMETER

SZ3066 Platinum Resistance Thermometers have stainless steel sheaths designed for
temperature measurement on the shop floor or in a basic laboratory and for general purpose calibration
of resistance thermometers, thermocouples or thermistor probes, in the range -70 degC to +450 degC

They can also be used for in-situ verification of process conditions or instrumentation loops and are of
particular interest to users of precision electronic digital measurement systems, who wish to extend
their capability to the accurate measurement of temperature.

There are severall variantions available and the actual model will depend upon the temperature range
and application, required or specified by the customer.

Typical variations may be changes to the stem diameter or length, changes to the Nominal resistance
at 0 Deg C, varying cable lengths and termination methods, and harsh environment modifications.
Changes to the construction of the sensing element are made to ensure that the most reliable and stable
measurements are made in the temperature regions the customer is most interested in and emphasis is
made on reliable stable measurement across a given range rather than the tolerance of the sensor
compared to an international specification, e.g. IEC60751 etc

Each thermometer is identified with a unique serial number and any additional marking the customer
may require. These thermometers may be supplied with or without UKAS calibration

Operating Temperature: -70 to +450 deg C
Element: 100 +/- 0,12 ohms (nominal value)
Internal Leads: Four wire connection (material will vary depending upon temperature range)
External Leads: 4-leads of silver plated copper wire, 19/0,15mm, PTFE insulated with outer screen with PTFE cover, Terminated as per customers' instructions
Measuring Current: 1 milliampere is recommended
Immersion depth: 300mm for normal version other wise it depends upon the final spec. supplied
Temperature: Normal versions are the 250degC & 450degC versions. Other types available on request
Material: 316 stainless steel sheath
Dimensions: Normal version Sheath dia; 6mm x 350mm, otherwise as per customers' requirements

CALIBRATION OF SZ3066 THERMOMETERS;

Each thermometer can be calibrated as requested by the customer, at temperature's offered below.

a) Fixed point or Liquid Bath Calibration between -85 deg C and +250/450 deg C
b) Provision of a calibration print-out over requested temperature range and intervals, giving resistance values derived from measurements at 0 deg C, 100 deg C, and an assumed value of Delta.
c) Sensing Devices Ltd are able to calibrate against standards traceable to NPL, and to
certificate the results with a UKAS accredited certificate.
