ATEX & IECEx Certified Temperature Sensors

Sensing Devices has gained European ATEX Directive (94/9/EC) and IECEx international certification for the specialist manufacture of temperature sensors for use in hazardous and explosive atmospheres. Sensor and RTDs Devices falling within the scope of both directives must comply to stringent certification.

We manufacture ATEX and IECEX certified RTDs and Stator sensors to Ex ia, Ex e and Ex d standards. Our experienced technical team can provide advice on certification and the best assembly configurations.

ATEX & IECEx Certification

Ex certified RTDs and stator sensors are manufactured in-house to rigorous ATEX & IECEx processes and documentation. We assemble sensors approved for use in areas with the following protection classifications:

The SD01529 Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) is a simplex or duplex PT100 sensing element (100Ω at 0°C) housed in a metal probe.

CONFIGURATION A number of different lengths and styles of probes are available for different temperature measurement applications (See Diagram)
CONNECTIONS Connections are made via a flying lead housed in conduit, terminals on a ceramic block, terminals within a metal/plastic terminal housing or plug/socket.
WORKING TEMPERATURE -196°C to +650°C (Application and environment will determine which element, cable and insulation is used.)
INGRESS PROTECTION Minimum requirement IP20, Up to IP68 Depending on application and environment.
APPROVAL ATEX and IECEx Approved.
CABLE LENGTH Maximum 15 Metres.
